2018 Wellness Experiment Results
Updated: Feb 18, 2020
Last year was full of wellness ups and downs. I struggled with awful leg pain, while at the same time hitting new weightlifting PRs in the gym.
Although I believe taking care of yourself (wellness) should be the #1 priority, I’d be lying if I said that was the case all the time. Sometimes life and work just get in the way. No one is perfect.
Throughout last year I worked in a variety of ideas to see what would stick.
I think its helpful to reflect once in a while on what you want to do more (and less) of in the future. Anything that wasn’t “very helpful” I stop doing for good so I can focus on the most effective items.

TB12 Method by Tom Brady

Electrolytes in my water. Tom Brady preaches electrolytes and I see why now. You don’t have to buy the TB12 brand. This brand on Amazon has the same exact ingredients.
Mixing the Healthforce supplement I call green crack into a green smoothie. This supplement has Spirulina, Chlorella, and a whole bunch of other superfoods.
Foam Roller. Get many of the same benefits of massage for free.
Biking to work when possible. “First move well…. then move often” — Gray Cook. Biking is very low impact, and hard to mess up the movement.
Pickup Basketball. Just plain fun exercise that reminds me of being a kid
Airpods. I would put this under wellness because it means less holding your phone to your ear for conversations and better posture
Fish Oil, Magnesium, B12, Probiotic Supplements
Working on my laptop in the sun when possible.
2 Polar plunges. One in 10 degree weather and another in the snow in Lake Michigan!
Food Sensitivity Allergy Test.
Fitted Running Shoes.
Epsom Salt Baths
NormaTec Compression Boots — Pain came back shortly after session was done
Mat to Stand on at work
NyQuil when sick
